Killer Candy for Your Eyes & Ears

The ONLY man who can pull of a tasche

Hot Fuss sits proudly close to the top of my best albums ever pile laughing and teasing Sam’s Town which just made it into the top 60 or so.

I suppose you could say that Hot Fuss is to Sam’s Town as George Clooney is to Alan Rickman. Alan is charming and does sound great but would you really want to wake up beside him on a Sunday morning? George on the other hand…

The Killer’s latest offering Day & Age has just bitch slapped Alan and is now sitting somewhere close to Robert Downey Junior. Too much of that analogy? Sorry.

The Killers could so easily become one of those bands which sound like every other band (*cough* Coldplay) but there’s something so distinct about them. I think it’s a combination of Brendan Flower’s slightly flawed voice and their willingness to experiment with composition.

Simply put the album rocks. Go. Buy it. Now!

(Coming Soon – Brittney’s Circus. Really, I will listen to anything!)

    I loved Hot Fuss too. I absolutely hate Human though. The lyrics make me want to pull my ears off.

    They simply aren’t good live though. No personality to their shows.

    Jeeze, Lottie, I was expecting a Youtube link, not Amazon. Are you working to commission somehow?

    I just don’t know about the KIllers/flawed thing. I do like the songs, but the flaws in his singing bother me more than enhance the songs, for me. He writes too hard for his limits. But still, good songs.

    THough in my humble, anti – tache opinion, he does NOT pull off that tache.

    @Kitty Cat – I like Human even if i don’t really understand it. It’s catchy. Although thanks to Elton John I now hear “Are we human. Or Tony Danza”

    @Anthony – Never seen them live but when he’s on TV he looks a little spaced but he looks very purty.

    @Jo _ I wrote this in a bit of a hurry so I didn’t really put too much effort into the links – but they are the albums and everyone should have them. Maybe Amazon should give me a little something for the endorsement…

    Tasche wise? Come on. He’s lovely.

    @T-Cup. Coat. Door. Out! :*

    I think the Killers suffer from being overplayed. Hot fuss is a great album but the everything since is very meh to me. Especially that new song.

    Has anyone noticed that Tony Fenton keeps calling it Hot Fuzz? Cracks me up.
