Lyrics in the Empty Space Between my Ears.
Posted in Blog by: LottieAsk me who my favourite musical artists are? Go on. I’ll say Jack L, Nick Cave, Delorentos, Camille O’Sullivan and so on.
But my dirty little secret is that I love pop. Anything with a good beat and lyrics that my five year old nephew could have written during a sugar high. Britney, Justin, Christina, Beyonce, Rihanna and now Lady GaGa. I can’t get her new song Poker Face out of my head today. Tell me I’m not alone.
And then there’s this.
Fine Day by Jane – most people probably know the silly remix dance version but I heard the a cappella version on the radio last night on my way home. Yes, it’s a little quirky-weird I couldn’t turn it off and the tune is now permanently imprinted in my head.

Just Dance (Lady GaGa) is much better…it’s quite funky…..

If you heard that echoing around an old house at night you’d shit bricks.

No, no, you are by no means alone. I’m going to see Lady Gaga next weekend actually. I’m totally excited!

Catchy lil’ ditty. I, um, acquired it as a result of your post. It sounds like what Christina Aguilera should be doing instead of that silly glam-era Goldfrapp-lite stuff.
To hold my hand up (and my head down), I found that Rihanna’s Disturbia and Danity Kane’s Damaged keep popping up in my internal playlist. Curse them and their wiggly-hipped melodiousness.

I like ‘Just Dance’ as a tune but the lyrics are a bit much eh? I hate hearing little girls singing things like this.
*What’s going on on the floor?
I love this record baby but I can’t see straight anymore
Keep it cool, what’s the name of this club?
I can’t remember but it’s alright, a-alright*

I know what you mean. Lady Gaga has been bouncing round my brain for the past 6 months, she writes a catchy tune

The little car is really cool, I used to dream of something like that when I was a kid.
And everyone needs pop in their life.

@Claire – It’s a bit overplayed already.
@Maxi – it’s not quite as creepy as hearing O Fortuna in the dark.
@Jonathan – Where is she playing?
@Daddy or Chips – Glad to see that I’m not alone in my shame. I have to confess a liking for Rihanna also and to lying when someone has asked me what I am listening to on the MP3 – “Oh um…Mozart?” And I’ll bet you, um, acquired it in the same place I did…
@Voodoolady _ I can’t say that I have properly listened to the Just Dance lyrics – but “Russian Roulette is not the same without a gun And baby when it’s love if it’s not rough it isn’t fun, ” Round and round again.
@GoE – Was she around a few years ago too? The name sounds really familiar.
@Holemaster – It is very cute. They could have done a better job on the wrapping though.

She’s been writing music for others and has been performing for the past few years in new york (more so on an underground basis). To the best of my knowledge!
