Would You Be So Honest?

‘It wasn’t mine. I could have taken it… but it was someone else’s ticket and someone else’s luck’

AN honest shop assistant is appealing for a mystery man who left a winning lottery ticket in the shop to come forward and claim his prize.

The absent-minded shopper left his National Lottery ticket on the counter of a shop on Drogheda, Co Louth, last Wednesday, little realising that it would soon be worth €350,000.

I’m not sure I would be.

It’s great. Well done him for being a decent honest man. Have to say, the guy who won it seems like a bit of a dick though.

It’ll come back to him in the future.

    What a hero.

I found €50 last week in a park and pocketed it. Does that make me a bad person?

  4. Claire Says:

Fair play…honestly, I’d consider keeping it, but it’d always be tainted, wouldn’t it..?

  5. Jo Says:

No, I couldn’t handle the guilt: but I’d expect a nice token!

How did they verify it was the real owner though?

  6. Lottie Says:

It was a quick pick ticket – the person probably would enver have known. I just don’t think I would be able to give it back…

No Im pretty sure I couldn’t do it. it would [ay off my mortgage, all my credit cards, my car loans, student loans, loans for the sake of a loan loans…

Guilt is for the weak. I’d have taken it, cashed it in and taken out a small (really small) ad in a local paper with the simple words “Ha Ha!”.

Wouldn’t over do it, they charge by the letter.

  8. B Says:

    wow, he’s a saint.

I’d take it, but donate about 75% of it to charities to quench the guilt… and it would.
