In The Black

Ms. Raptureponies turned me on to Etsy a while back and now it’s an addiction. A burden likened to my Daft and E-Bay problems, for discussion at a later date. In my Friday evening I’m-too-broke-to-leave-the-house stupor I came across the fabulously decadent designs of  Louise Black.

All pieces are hand-stitched and mostly one-of-a-kind but there is a limited range of reproducibles.

All The Way Up

I’m a little bit in love with this seasons range of thigh high boots or OTKs (over-the-knees).

Verging perilously on the line between pole dancer and power dresser the trick seems to be to wear them with chunky jumpers and long blazers for a modern Marlene Dietrich look.

I am particularly taken by these practical CK pirate style boots. I wonder if they come in thunder size.

If ever I have been truly envious of a “real” person it has to be Jessica Schroeder of What I Wore. The woman seems to have a infinite wardrobe and copious imagination in creating different looks. To top off the envy she also looks a little like Jennifer Garner.

Check out the Tumblr bog here but be warned, it is highly addictive.

Now one of our own, @RosemaryMacCabe has created a little haven of voyeurism on Style Bitches Are Vicious. Go check it out, rate her, slate her, steal her look.

I’d like this in red:

And this without the weird pleating bit in the middle:

No rush.

“Oh. My. God. It’s like, the best thing ever”, says I.

“Uh huh”, says He.

“But it’s super amazing“, says I.

“I find it a little hard to get excited about a shoe rack”, says He.

“Oh, but you should get excited”, says I, “It’s so super amazing that I will actually use it”.

He hasn’t stopped laughing yet.

I’ll show him. Next pay day, I’ll show him.

Mmm. Sigh.

Something Wicked This Way Comes

Well I’ll be leaving on a jet plane in less than 18 hours for a week of fun, glamour, culture and general merriment in the Big Apple.

One of the many many high points I have to look forward to is Wicked on Broadway. I’ve waited four l-o-n-g years to go see Wicked in Manhattan, having refused to see it in the West End.  I believe that this is one thing that can only work with an American accent.

I have yet to pack my bags but I managed to find time to sort my Wicked outfit already(well sort of – I can’t actually afford an Alexander McQueen jacket or Moschino pumps but my A-Wear Mini-Tux jacket and Aldo knock-offs come close enough).

So see y’all in 7 days. Try not to miss me too much.
